BG Controls was built from scratch by Duncan Biggins and Steve Gunn, who remain major shareholders.

In 1995, they decided the only way to make a difference in the marketplace was to create their own company. This enabled them to create solutions for which they themselves would be happy with.

Duncan and Steve, however, felt the industry was not proactive enough towards open systems which would allow end-users, consultants and contractors a freedom of choice.

Modularity

The company has five business units. These include two controls projects divisions (Integrated Systems and Central Systems), a service and maintenance operation (Systems Support), an electrical installation operation and a motor control panel manufacturing workshop.

With the head office based near Rotherham, just off junction 31 of the M1, this central location is convenient when serving a nationwide client base. Applications include:

BG Controls is a member of the Building Controls Industry Association. The BCIA represents the interests of the building controls industry and upholds high standards of performance for organizations and individuals.

BG Controls has procedures compliant with the Contractors Health & Safety scheme. CHAS is the established as the market leader for health & safety pre-qualification in the UK.

In addition to the above, BG Controls are approved installers for a number of manufacturers including EFT Energy Manager and BMS product ranges from Siemens, Priva and Centraline by Honeywell.
